The value of your computers and computer network components cannot be measured by the price tag of the hardware.  The value cannot be measured by comparing the gigahertz or megahertz or the size of the hard disks. The value can only be measured by the intellectual property you entrust within the system.  Don't wait until its too late to realize this. .

Understanding the importance of reliability should happen before your systems prove to be less than such.  The same can be said for security as well.  Hopefully we have the luxury of taking our business tools for granted.  They should be taken for granted as far as your employees are concerned.  The fact that they are going to do what is needed, when it is needed is something that should be a given.  Without consistency, your workforce is paralyzed. As a decision maker, you are forced to worry about contingency planning, and providing those systems witch the acceptable MTBF in the first place.
